Right to Information
The Right to Information Act 2005 (RTI) is an Act of the Parliament of India "to provide for setting out the practical regime of right to information for citizens".Under the provisions of the Act, any citizen may request information from a "public authority" (a body of Government or "instrumentality of State") which is required to reply expeditiously or within thirty days. The Act also requires every public authority to computerize their records for wide dissemination and to pro-actively publish certain categories of information so that the citizens need minimum recourse to request for information formally. This law was passed by Parliament on 15 June 2005 and came fully into force on 12 October 2005.
In exercise of powers conferred under section 5(1) of Right to Information Act 2005 (Central Act 22 of 2005), the Office Superintendent, Cantonment Board Jutogh has been designated as Central Public Information Officer.
Under subsection 19(1) of the Right to Information Act 2005, the Chief Executive Officer, Cantonment Board, Jutogh is designated as Appellate Authority, to exercise the powers as provided under the Act
It is here by intimated to the General Public the Information as required under Section 4-1(b) of Right to Information Act 2005 in respect of Cantonment Board Jutogh has been compiled and published. The information consists of details of Organization of Cantonment Board Jutogh its functions and duties, procedures followed in diction making and all other relevant information as required to be published under Section 4-1(b) of Right to Information Act 2005. The said information will be available in the office of the Cantonment Board Jutogh for public seeing during working hours on all working days. Copies of the said information can be obtained from the office of the Cantonment Board free of cost or otherwise as the case may be.
